I didn't get to go to the Wardcliff play yesterday. Boo hoo. Today was National Silence Day. I started not talking at about 11 this morning because that's when I found out it. I guess I wasn't weirded out enough by Robbie's note that said: We need to move down. in band to ask him why he wrote it down instead of telling me. Anyway, National Silence Day is when we respect all the people who died in hate-crimes and didn't get a chance to tell anybody about it before they died by not talking. That's what I heard anyway. So I found out about it around 11 and then I started using a notepad to talk to people. When the sub in math called my name, I raised my hand instead of saying here. When Ms. Wild had us repeat the numbers out loud that she pointed at us with, i just held up four fingers instead of saying four. You get the picture. But in gym I didn't have my notepad (I couldn't run with it in the mile and anyway it would be weird to talk to a teacher on a notepad) so I had to tell Mrs. Marks my mile time outloud. It was my very best! I'm so proud of myself. At my school, for a lot of people, 7:42 is really bad, but for me, it was really good. A lot of other people got their best time also. For me it was either because of track or that new running form that the Playmakers people showed us. Grace was dehydrated so she had to walk twice, but she still got the same time as me. Oh well. Another time when I wasn't silent (I'm not sure if this counts) was when in gym, a volleyball almost hit my head and I screamed. In Social Studies, I told Mrs. DeKatch thank you because I couldn't just not say anything after she gave me a really good book for my China project. My subject is inventions. I hope it's really easy. I do not care at all if it's boring. I just want it to be easy. I don't know if it's boring yet. Probably not. And after school, a girl's dogs were barking at Ernie and she said sorry so I had to say, "That's okay". And then Summer called and so I just decided to give up on this no talking thing. We are going to the Hiawatha Happening. Yay! It was really annoying when someone would say thank you or something like that and I couldn't answer and when someone would ask me a question and I would be anwering it on my notepad and then they would ask me another question! Hello! Does it look like I can answer two questions at once? Maybe if they both had the answer yes, but that's not the case if the answers were something like, What was your mile time? and Why aren't you talking? at the same time. Those questions were asked to me by Summer on the walk home. Katie, Eddie, Eric, Sarah, Robert, Robbie and some other people did it. Sarah forgot and spoke. I think everyone except Katie and I just stopped. Anyway, moving on. Yesterday in Language Arts, Kai said something funny. He said that the day before that, in Foods, He and his group were making something and Kai was testing the stove with his hand. He touched the burner and it wasn't ready. He tried a couple more times and then he found out that it was ready. He burned his hand! Pooor Kai. It was kind of dumb of him to touch the burner to see if it was ready though. Don't tell him I said that.

P.S. Sarah: I don't think that Sean wasn't talking because every time I saw him except once he was talking.
